Reading Habits Email
My experiences in past English classes have been favorable, pleasant, and enjoyable. I read infrequently for pleasure, or about a few times per month. Furthermore, When reading for pleasure, I prefer to read fiction, and i prefer to read words on a page in my bedroom. My primary source of motivation for reading is typically for a school assignment, and would most likely read more if i didn't have a myriad of assignments proceeding.
I am typically rather skilled with choosing books that I would enjoy and have gone to a bookstore to buy a book to read for pleasure before. I usually comprehend what I read, but much less of it if I am reading poetry.

Evaluation of Betsy DeVos' Interview
Throughout Betsy DeVos’ interview on 60-Minutes interview, Lesley Stahl grilled her about her plans for public schools and college; DeVos failed to answer almost every question, only giving a clear stance to the most basic moral question. Her answer for multiple questions was either “I don’t know” or “I do not wish to speak about schools in general.” When she would give a halfway coherent answer, she tended to evade the question by shifting to a different statistic than the one being spoken of, or by saying she was asked to attend to the issue. The only clear, succinct answer was when she was asked if she “felt a sense of urgency” over the issues facing public education; this question - had it not been answered clearly - would have let to severe backlash. When the only question that was clearly answered is the one with the answer obvious to anyone, it is difficult to say that she was forthright in her interview.
Quick Write 3/15
When people say that they have never seen their own face, it reminds me of the study where it was proven that people naturally dislike the sound of their own voice. While we are naturally bred to dislike the sound of our voice, the slight distortion added by the recording makes it near impossible to enjoy it. A similar situation occurs with pictures and reflections. When we do our hair, makeup, or choose an outfit, we are seeing a reflection of what we actually look like. Only being able to see the opposite of what we look like means that we look quite different in reality. Therefore, when we look at a picture of ourselves, how can we admire ourselves when it looks so different than what we had hoped for?
